Anyone interested in Michigan history and the preservation of its cultural heritage should consider joining MAA. Our members include professionals who care for archival collections throughout the state, paraprofessionals and volunteers who are involved in preserving historical documents, records, and other archival collections, and members of the public who are interested in preserving our state’s historical resources.
Membership Benefits
|
Members receive reduced registration rates to our Annual Conference and Meeting. Each June, the Michigan Archival Association sponsors a two-day conference with sessions about issues of archival and historical concern. Held at sites throughout the state, meetings provide a convenient opportunity to network with colleagues. MAA’s Annual Business Meeting is also conducted at this time. MAA chooses annual meeting locations throughout the state, rotating through each of the state's quadrants, to ensure all our members have an opportunity to attend.
Members receive reduced registration rates to MAA Workshops. Each year the Michigan Archival Association aims to sponsor at least one workshop developed and taught by leaders in the profession to promote professional development in our archival community. Workshops are held in the Fall or Spring and in conjunction with our Annual Meeting. Information about upcoming Workshops is shared on our website, listserv, and Facebook page.
